Wrote and edited all copy for a startup internet lifestyle website, farmstarliving.com. Conducted interviews, wrote long-form articles, farmer profiles, and feature stories, as well as short product features. Researched and wrote about farm-to-table restaurants and farms across the country. Participated in the rebranding and relaunch of the site as an informational lifestyle site, http://www.farmstarliving.com. This included working closely with web designers and developers to build a custom CMS (“backend”) and managing a small staff including developers, writers, and interns.

My primary position at Bella Cucina was working in the retail store in the Virginia-Highlands neighborhood. The store featured a small eatery; I prepared sandwiches, salads, coffee, and served customers. Retail responsibilities included stocking, inventory, sampling, POS, and managing the customer email database. In addition I developed the farmers market program by working at two weekly markets, transporting goods and materials and developing relationships with customers and vendors. I contributed to social media by taking original photographs and sharing product features; developed email newsletters; and conducted interviews and wrote blogs for bellacucina.com. In addition, I developed two seasonal cooking classes/demos which included original recipe content showcasing Bella Cucina products.
